Finishing strong!

Pred odhodom nas čakata še dve bogoslužji – srbsko in romsko, kjer bodo člani našega teama delili pričevanja in zgodbe o tem, kaj jih je Bog naučil. Potem pa nas čaka DOLGA pot domov.

Hvala še enkrat, ker nas podpirate in komaj čakamo, da delimo zgodbe z vami v živo!

Naš Bog je res DOBER.

za tim Srbija, Mateja

Hi everyone!

Our team is just so EXCITED about everything that the Lord has done this week in Leskovac, Serbia, in the hearts of the campers and of our team!

We are so grateful for every prayer, thought and encouraging word. The Lord has answered abundantly to our prayers. Yesterday, the gospel had been presented and the campers were encouraged to accept Jesus in their hearts, and 13 of them raised their hand! Later on, we also did »the labyrinth« (presentation of the gospel in a different way. Campers go to different stations and on every station they go trough an activity which represents a part of the gospel) where even more campers accepted the Lord! Altogether we have more than 20 new brothers and sisters! Furthermore, many campers have been encouraged in their faith.

We have had a really great week as a team as well. A part of the Serbian team that was with us already left today and we have already had to say our first goodbyes. It wasn’t easy, since we have formed wonderful friendships with them. We also had our last English classes today, where we had given our students some small gifts that will (hopefully) remind us on this camp and encourage them next year to return. Now we’re heading to an evangelization night in their neighborhood, where everyone is invited. We really ask for your prayers, because we want to finish this camp with even greater strength and love that we started with, despite of all the exhaustion. We are pretty worn out physically, and the danger of distancing ourselves from students is also there, since we know that we’ll be going home tomorrow night.

But before we leave, we’ll be attending two services – Serbian and Roma, where our team members will share testimonies and stories of what the Lord have been teaching them. And then we have a LOOOOOOOONG way home.

Thank you again for your support and we are looking forward to sharing the stories with you in person!

Our God is really GOOD.

For team Srbija, Tilen

UPDATE :)

- enotnost ekipe

- vodstvo Svetega Duha

- zaščito naših teles, uma in src

- počitek in odgovorno ravnanje s časom, ki ga imamo

- angleške razrede

- odprta srca in jasno predstavljen evangelij

- navdušenje in zmožnost pokazati Kristusovo ljubezen

tudi mi molimo za vas! Hvala še enkrat. Zdej grem pa jst naprej poslušat fantastično slavljenje! :)

v Njem, Mateja za tim

ohh and for our English speaking brothers and sisters:

We are SO thankful for your prayers and continued encouragement! We are witnessing some amazing things and are SO excited to be a part of what the Lord is doing here in Serbia! Students are responding so well, we get to spend a lot of time just having fun with them and building relationships!

Last night was our first evening of camp in their village and I think we were all a bit shocked when we entered their village… they are extremely poor, but live in a very tight-knit community, so a lot of people were wondering what we’re doing on, what we are doing in THEIR cultural center, etc… it was very fun to hang out with kids and try to communicate in broken Serbian. We are all getting better at it, so we started working on our Roma language ability again. some of us can even count to 10 :) we were blown away by their worship though! They are insanely talented musicians, they love to sing and dance so the worship turned into a concert! :) we enjoyed it a lot and can’t wait to share a video or two.

We also feel attacked. There has been a lot of sickness (the director of camp had to leave camp today, cuz he was feeling too weak to be a part of it), tiredness and just bad news that we have received from our friends. So we really need your prayers and support and we are also praying a whole bunch for our church in Slovenia and each other.

Words cannot express how thankful we are to have you on our team! Please continue to pray for:

- unity

- clear presentation of the Gospel

- protection of our bodies, minds and hearts

- English classes

- Responsible time management

- Rest

- EXCITEMENT and ability and willingness to show love of Christ

Thank you.

In Him, Mateja for the team

safe and sound!

hi everyone! we are SO excited to finally be HERE! it took us 13 hours to get from ljubljana to leskovac (of course that involved a lot of stopping, visiting people, rest, food and fun) but we got a good nights sleep and feel refreshed and ready for training, lesson plans, etc.

we are just finished with a great meeting where we found out more about the church we're seving with, got to know a couple of people and are now off to lesson planning! we are also enjoying music here VERY MUCH! the youth here is musically crazy talented!

we feel very united and protected! THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS- we know that is what's helping us feel that! please countinue to remember us in your prayers... and if there's anything you need prayers for please text me (Mateja) and the team will love to pray for you as well-

we might be able to post some pictures soon, but for now, that's it.

v Njem,

Mateja for the team.

off we go!! or almost... :)

w

hi there! so for all of you english speakers reading this blog- here's a post for you! we are SO excited for this trip ahead of us! we are leaving in 6 hours!! crazy! (i should probably be sleeping)

we are enjoying some really sweet time and fellowship at the Patty's (thank you Patty family)! we enjoy being together a ton. I feel like we're a "real team" and couldn't be more encouraged by that!

we would love your prayers as we begin our adventure.

please be praying for:

- safety! we have A LOT of driving to do. pray for other people that are organizing this camp as they have quite a drive to make themselves and some of them are even flying from other countries

- TEAM UNITY and protection... that's a big one. we know that the enemy will try to attack our team but we also know that team unity brings glory to the Lord so we're willing to fight for it! but please be praying for strenght and wisdom as we do it or continue doing it!

- the students that are coming to camp. pray for open hearts, for them to even show up and for protection of their thoughts as the enemy will try to convince them not to come to camp

- clarity. we really want to tune into the Holy Spirit as we interact with each other, the team there and students when they arrive on Wednesday.

we talked a lot about one verse the last time we were meeting and I really want to share it with you. it's kind of our theme verse for this trip.

Colossians 2:15-17 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR STANDING WITH US!

here's the most recent picture of the team... this one is of all of us! YAY!
